Privacy Policy

Collecterie collects only what it needs to provide private collection tools, keep accounts secure, and manage product updates.

What Collecterie collects

When you create an account, Collecterie stores your email address, display name, a securely hashed password, account and session identifiers, and verification or password-reset records. When you use the app, Collecterie stores the collection information you choose to add, including Library and Wishlist items, notes, themes, sentiments, matching-item details, favorites, finished projects, Collette questions and conversations, and photos you upload.

Collecterie records when a signed-in session was last active. The mobile and web apps also create a random installation identifier so Collecterie can count active installations and understand which app versions are still in use. The server stores only a one-way hash of that identifier with your account, platform, app version, and first- and last-seen times. Collecterie does not use an advertising ID, device name, hardware serial number, or cross-app fingerprint for this purpose.

If you previously joined the waitlist or ask for product updates, Collecterie stores your email address, signup time, signup source, referrer, and campaign tags when they are present. Technical details such as IP address and user agent may also be processed by the website host, API, or security tools to keep Collecterie working and prevent abuse.

How Collecterie uses it

Collecterie uses account and collection information to sign you in, save and organize your private collection, provide collection-aware suggestions, support photo-assisted item entry, and help you use the app. Photos or questions submitted for optional Collette analysis may be processed by service providers solely to return the requested result. Collecterie uses update-request information to send product news, prevent duplicate signups, and understand where interest is coming from.

Session and installation activity helps Collecterie measure active use, support members, find outdated app versions, keep the service reliable, and diagnose crashes or performance problems. Diagnostic tools are configured not to receive collection titles, notes, searches, or photos.

Collecterie does not sell personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Campaign pages and visit measurement

When you follow a campaign link or scan one of our flyer QR codes, Collecterie records the campaign and optional placement or creative label, visit time, device and browser information, language, screen size, time zone, referring website, and actions such as store-link clicks, video plays, scrolling, and time engaged. Temporary random identifiers distinguish events within a visit. IP addresses are processed into daily-changing keyed pseudonyms for abuse protection; this campaign database does not retain raw IP addresses. We do not request precise location or use cross-site fingerprints.

The optional “Remember this browser” choice saves a random browser identifier for up to 90 days and a first-party campaign cookie for up to 30 days. This helps recognize returning visits and connect a campaign to account registration, signed-in app activity, and adding a first collection item. Without that choice, campaign measurement continues with temporary identifiers and no campaign-attribution cookie. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals prevent these saved identifiers. You can change the preference from “Visit measurement” on a campaign page.

Detailed visit and event records are subject to a 180-day retention window; account-linked campaign attribution has a 730-day window. Cleanup runs regularly when the campaign service is used. Embedded videos connect to YouTube only when you choose to play them. Store links take you to Apple or Google, whose own privacy policies apply. A store-link click is not treated as proof of an app installation.

Where it lives

Collecterie's website and API are hosted on IIS, account and collection records use SQL Server, and uploaded photos are kept in private app-controlled storage. Hosting, security, email, and optional analysis providers may process the information needed to deliver those services. Data is encrypted in transit.

Your choices

You choose what collection details and photos to add, and you can edit or delete individual items and projects in the app. You can ask to update or remove product-update information by contacting Collecterie.

Delete your account

You can request deletion of your Collecterie account and associated data through the account deletion page. We may ask you to verify control of the account email before deletion.
